Subsidy scheme for private charging infrastructure at companies
Are charging stations too big an investment for your company? Then we have good news! From now on, entrepreneurs can make use of the new subsidy scheme for private charging infrastructure. If the total subsidy amount for the charging posts is less than €25,000, the charging posts must be installed first and the subsidy can be applied for from 24 September 2024. This scheme helps companies with the cost of advice on charging stations and the construction of charging stations on their own premises. What can the private charging infrastructure subsidy scheme be used for?
The subsidy is available for all companies -large and small- and can be used for on-site charging infrastructure. The scheme applies to the basic charging infrastructure, including the main connection and cabling needed to make charging stations work. In addition, you can make use of this subsidy for AC charging stations with a capacity of at least 11 kW (such as Ratio Solar or io6), provided at least 4 chargers are installed and/or for AC charging stations with a capacity of up to 22 kW. This concerns the Ratio io7 (2x double charger).
What are the conditions you have to meet?
To apply for this grant, there are some conditions you have to meet. For instance, you must be a registered company with the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, you must be based in the Netherlands and the charging stations must be installed on company-owned or leased land. The final conditions are that you must have completed the installation within 24 months of the grant being awarded.
Required documents subsidy application
To make your subsidy application, you need to provide a number of documents and data:
- Company details: your Chamber of Commerce registration number, IBAN, and the contact details of the person in charge (name, phone number and email)
- SME declaration: if you apply as an SME, a declaration confirming the size of your company is needed
- Location details: the postal code of the location where the charge posts will be installed
- Invoices and specifications: a detailed invoice of the installation of the charge posts, including the brand, type, specifications, power output of each charge post and the date of installation
- De minimis declaration: a statement confirming that you comply with the rules of de minimis support. The charging station must always be connected to the internet and communication must be via the Open Charge Point Protocol version 1.6 with a CS certificate or higher
- Grid capacity: information must be provided on the required grid capacity and any adjustments needed to make the charging stations operational
- Situation drawing: a drawing marking the physical location of the charge points on the site
How to apply for the subsidy scheme for private charging infrastructure?
Applying for the subsidy is very easy online. There are a number of steps to follow:
- Check if your business is eligible under the terms and conditions;
- Collect required documents, as explained above;
- Submit your application through the government's online portal;
- Wait for approval and further instructions.
For applications where the grant amount is less than €25,000, the installation must be completed before the grant can be applied for. The application must then be submitted within 13 weeks of completion of the work.
